If you like a good audio book then this surreal story is worth a look. Written by Chris Wade, the veteran funny man Rik Mayall has now been used to turn it into an audio book. It is available now from iTunes and Amazon MP3 and has got some good reviews.

This unique story is an experiment in challenging conventional storytelling, twisting the English language into unnatural positions, deforming characters into twitching wrecks. A surreal mindbender with a shocking twist.

Not only is this story a laugh, it is also thought provoking and open to much interpretation. Ideal if you like to get a bit more out of a story rather then just finishing it and forgetting about it!

First meeting over 30 years ago these two guys have both had incredibly successful careers. I’m talking about Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. The mention of their names instantly makes me think ‘Blackadder!’, one of my favourite British comedies, but these two have done a lot more together then just Blackadder.

The pair have been great friends for many years, and now GOLD have got them together and a one-off exclusive special show ‘Fry And Laurie Reunited’ has been created.

Nice to see a program like this being created as it is a refreshing change from just watching these guys in regular programs, you get to see more of the real person behind the characters, and they always have some great stories. Certainly one to watch.

The world’s most popular musical ‘Les Miserables’ is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary on October 3rd 2010. And people around the world can watch it live! Although it’s not a comedy it is still a great show so I thought it was worth a mention!

The show is being beamed live from the O2 Arena in London to cinemas across the globe, it will be shown at more than 130 cinemas. You can see information here: http://www.cinestage.net

In it are lots of stars, including Little Britains own Matt Lucas. As well as lots of talented performers including Nick Jonas (from the Jonas Brothers) and Broadway pro Norm Lewis.

Like I say, it is not a comedy (the title literally means “The Miserable Ones”) but if you like a good musical then check this out on October 3rd as it looks very cool. Here are a couple of photos.

Dave, the home of witty banter, has a new comedy series which looks good. It is called FC Dave and follows a 5-a-side team of lads trying to win the broadcast cup. Unfortunately they’re not very good.

It is NOT being shown on the Dave channel on Sky/Virgin/Freeview, only online. New episodes can be seen at joindave.co.uk every Thursday.
